Position Details: Minimum Qualifications Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education. Licensure: Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered. Experience: Non-24-Hour Opportunity locations May consider non-certified candidates with applicable surgical technologist experience. 24-Hour-Opportunity locations May consider non-experienced perioperative candidates. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law. Preferred Education: Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help.
