Duties & Responsibilities: Design and implement optical interference filters which meet customer requirements in a wide range of applications, such as consumer electronics, bio medical devices, gas monitoring, fluorescence microscopy, astronomy, light sensing, projection display, quantum optics. Develop and/or improve materials and processes for manufacturing of optical coatings. The assignment will encompass optical coating design, substrate preparation, substrate / wafer handling, vacuum-based coating processes such as sputter deposition, post-coating optical metrology, and other processes. Improve understanding of interaction between different coating materials. Interacting with customers to understand their requirements and develop optical coatings / filters meeting their needs in a timely manner. Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: Required Qualifications: Minimum B.S. in Material Science, Physical, Electrical, or Optical Engineering or related field. Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills. Analytical thinker; detail oriented; problem solver. Proficient with computers: strong proficiency with MS Excel and Office Experience in Thin Film Deposition, vacuum processes, and optics At least 5 years of experience Must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
