Senior Consultant, Construction Planning & Delay Analysis .

REMOTESENIOR LEVEL
Who We Are FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world’s top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations. At FTI Consulting, you’ll work side-by side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you’ll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you. Are you ready to make your impact? About the role FTI Consulting's Construction, Projects & Assets (CP&A) Practice is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant specializing in Planning and Delay Analysis to join our Mumbai / New Delhi office. This is a regional role with a primary focus on Asia, offering exposure to complex, high-value construction and infrastructure disputes across diverse markets — with the potential for broader international engagement where project needs arise. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to deliver planning and delay analysis services to clients navigating some of the most challenging construction disputes in the region. This is an opportunity to build deep technical expertise within a globally recognized expert services firm.   What You’ll Do Programme & Schedule Analysis You will develop, monitor, and manage project programmes and schedules, applying rigorous analytical techniques to assess project progress and identify critical path drivers. Your responsibilities will include evaluating schedule feasibility — including the use of constraints, lags, and logic — and identifying key metrics that inform client decision-making. Where required, you will reconstruct programmes in Primavera P6 or MS Project to support delay analysis. You will also assist senior team members in assessing the effects of delaying events on project completion, applying both prospective and retrospective delay analysis methodologies. Delay Analysis & Claims Support You will review and analyse project information — including progress reports, programme updates, and formal instructions — to identify and extract key details relating to delays, disruption, and productivity impacts. This includes organising findings chronologically, assessing applicable delay analysis methodologies against contract requirements, and drafting formal correspondence in support of Extension of Time claims on behalf of clients. Client & Project Engagement You will liaise directly with clients to gather necessary project documentation and information, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout.   What You Will Need to Succeed Basic Qualifications A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in construction planning and delay analysis, ideally gained on major projects or within a disputes/advisory context. Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify, track, and articulate the causes and effects of delaying events within complex project schedules. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are required, with a minimum proficiency of CEFR C1 level in both writing and speaking expected. Additional language skills are considered an asset given the regional nature of the role. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across different jurisdictions and time zones. Regional and occasional international travel to client offices or FTI offices may be required, along with flexibility to participate in early or late-hour meetings to accommodate cross-regional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential; familiarity with MS Project or other planning tools is an advantage. Familiarity with standard form contracts, particularly Extension of Time provisions, is advantageous. Exposure to the SCL Protocol and AACEI Guidelines is desirable. FTI Consulting is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, protected veteran status, religion, physical or mental disability, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or any other basis protected by law, ordinance, or regulation.
