Hemodialysis Registered Nurse
We're looking for a Hemodialysis RN to deliver safe, high-quality chronic dialysis care under the direction of the Unit Medical Director, in compliance with facility, state, and federal standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments; assess patients pre- and post-treatment
- Perform access care and dialyze isolation patients using proper precautions
- Administer and document medications per physician orders and within RN scope of practice
- Recognize and report dialysis and non-dialysis-related problems promptly
- Obtain blood samples and initiate/discontinue blood transfusions per policy
- Develop and update individualized nursing care plans
- Provide patient and family education as opportunities arise
- Maintain a safe environment using proper body mechanics, universal precautions, and infection control
Operations & Equipment
- Operate, sanitize, and maintain dialysis and water treatment equipment per policy
- Assist with supply ordering, inventory management, and unit organization
- Report equipment malfunctions and supply issues promptly
Team & Administration
- Communicate effectively with physicians, coordinators, patients, and families
- Assist in orienting and training new staff
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and CQI projects
- Support scheduling and adequate unit coverage as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license per state requirements
- Knowledge of ESRD and hemodialysis procedures
- Commitment to ongoing clinical education and professional development
