Pathlight School / Autism Resource Centre (Singapore)

Singapore

Trainer, Life Skills.

FULL TIME

Join us in Transforming Lives Together!

Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.

The Life Skills Team delivers high-quality life skills education through strategic curriculum development, effective program implementation, and seamless coordination. Through customized lessons and immersive learning experiences, our Life Skills Trainers equip students with critical skills for daily life, personal safety, and well-being. This role goes beyond the classroom, involving hands-on, real-world practice to ensure students can confidently apply life skills in various environments.

As a Trainer, Life Skills, your impact & contribution includes:

Customize and Deliver Lessons

  • Tailor Life Skills lessons to meet each student's unique needs, addressing areas such as social skills, daily routines, and independent living.

Contribute to Programme Development

  • Contribute to refining the Life Skills curriculum and related teaching and learning resources to ensure quality education outcomes for students.

Organise Life Skills Learning Experiences for Students

  • Contribute to planning and implementation of student learning experiences including residential camps, boarding programs, and overseas trips, providing students with immersive learning opportunities that build confidence, independence, and adaptability.

Facilitate Real-World Learning

  • Lead students in experiential activities, community outings, and practical scenarios, bridging the gap between theory and application.

Monitor and Assess Progress

  • Track student development through ongoing assessments, maintaining detailed portfolios to capture achievements and areas for growth.

Collaborate with Key Stakeholders

  • Partner with educators, parents, and community organizations to create a supportive learning network and maximize student success.

Requirements

  • Attained DISE from NIE or a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
  • Min. 2 years of relevant experience teaching or coaching life skills to students with special needs
  • Proficient at delivering structured lessons and creating engaging activities that build independence while addressing students' unique learning needs.
  • Effective communication and proven ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and community partners
