The Work
This is a full-scope orthopedic APP role. That means you're not shadowing — you're doing.
- Running independent clinics — your patients, your assessments, your treatment plans
- Comprehensive MSK care across a wide range of injuries and conditions: fractures, dislocations, joint pathology, soft tissue repair, post-op management, and more
- Procedures — aspirations and injections, closed reductions, compartment pressure measurements, digital blocks, regional anesthesia, minor outpatient surgery (tendon repair, wound closure, I&D, percutaneous pinning, hardware removal)
- OR assist — first assist, wound closure, internal device application, and procedures delegated by the supervising surgeon
- Hospital-side coverage — rounds, orders, ED consults, and floor evaluations
- Diagnostic interpretation — labs, EMG, EKG, X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, bone scan, arthrogram
- Casting, splinting, bracing — applied correctly, the first time
