Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) - remote GER.

FULL TIMEREMOTEQA

Summary

As a Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d), you will be a key member of our SAP development team, ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest quality standards throughout the entire development lifecycle. Your focus will be on technical quality assurance and test automation. You will actively contribute to ensuring quality, identify risks at an early stage, and continuously develop our QA strategy and quality processes.

Your mission

You will develop and take ownership of comprehensive test strategies – ranging from automated and exploratory testing to UI, API, and integration testing. You will ensure that quality is considered from the very beginning by applying the Shift-Left principle and complementing it with targeted Shift-Right approaches such as monitoring and observability.

A key focus of your role will be test automation. You will develop, extend, and maintain automated tests and test automation frameworks, using established automation frameworks for UI and API testing.

You will be comfortable working in technical test environments and will not rely solely on testing through the user interface. This includes, for example, working with the console and developer tools, creating and manipulating technical test data and master data, as well as technically isolating and analyzing defects. API and interface testing will also be part of your responsibilities.

In collaboration with stakeholders and the development team, you will support the entire agile development process – from refinements through to acceptance testing. You will bring your QA perspective in at an early stage, challenge requirements regarding testability and completeness, and independently identify risks and edge cases.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining test repositories and test data and regularly conducting regression tests. You will actively drive the continuous improvement of our QA processes and ensure that technical quality requirements are sustainably incorporated.

You will contribute to modern QA topics beyond traditional functional testing. This includes a basic understanding of performance and security testing, as well as modern security approaches such as threat modeling.

As a quality ambassador within the team, you will share best practices and actively promote a sustainable quality culture. You will also keep AI-supported approaches, such as automated test case generation and self-healing tests, in mind as potential areas for further development of our QA landscape.

Your profile

You have several years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) or in a comparable role and have a solid understanding of modern testing methods and software development processes. An ISTQB certification (at least Foundation Level) is required for this position; additional certifications are a plus.

Practical experience with test automation is a key requirement for this position. You have experience with established test automation frameworks and can independently create, develop, and maintain automated UI and API tests.

You have a strong technical understanding and are comfortable working independently in technical environments. Working with the console and developer tools, creating and manipulating technical test data and master data, as well as technically analyzing and isolating defects, are second nature to you. You are also familiar with API and interface testing.

You see QA as more than simply executing tests – you actively contribute to shaping quality. You challenge requirements, independently identify risks and edge cases, and get involved in refinements at an early stage to address testability, completeness, and quality risks from the outset.

You are familiar with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and have a good understanding of software development processes. You work in an analytical, structured, and independent manner and communicate confidently with different stakeholders and the development team.

Ideally, you also have basic SAP knowledge, experience with performance or security testing, as well as monitoring and observability approaches. A basic understanding of modern security approaches, such as threat modeling, is a plus.

You are interested in the continuous development of modern QA methods and in further developing AI-supported testing approaches in the future.

Very good German skills and at least B2-level English skills round off your profile and make you the ideal addition to our team.
