Our client is a leading global Financial market data provider who runs a number of programs to deliver high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the globe in a real-time, high-frequency, and low-latency data management chain.
- We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Real Time Data Distribution System in the Real Time Core team. The successful candidate will combine strong technical and collaboration skills in a demanding and dynamic environment. You will work directly with your team and with groups across the organisation to ensure the best service for our client base.
- You will be a member of a multi-skilled team building and maintaining components for our market leading our system. We strive for our engineers to work within agile teams that emphasize standard process and believe quality is everyone’s responsibility. They bring an enthusiastic attitude whilst making sure they share their knowledge while removing constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging with the product owner, team lead, architects and other members of the global team you'll help build world-class solutions to address our customer needs.
- Demonstrating a consistent focus on quality and security, you'll deliver reliable, and robust solutions.

- Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
- Actively participating in Scrum meetings, you'll give timely status updates to the Team Lead and/or Scum Master on areas for which you are responsible.
- Through agile retrospectives and reviews, you'll analyse and adapt, finding innovative ways to enable your team work more effectively delivering on time to defined standards of quality.
- You'll need to able to work well under pressure and be adept at taking problems and seeing them through to resolution with minimal supervision.
- You'll be an excellent communicator and very client focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- You'll ensure that the Knowledge Base is kept up to date with the team's knowledge and technical issues resolution.
Skills
Must have
- Strong C/C++ experience (minimum 5 years) for cross-platform development, particularly on Linux.
- High performance software development, memory management experience
- Experience using different databases like Oracle, Postgres etc.
- TCP/Secure Socket Layer development experience
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Podman and Kubernetes)
- Able to calmly navigate and work through and resolve engineering and Service issues
- Knowledge of git concepts, CI/CD, release strategy, branching strategy, and development / release pipelines.
- Excellent verbal communication and written documentation skills.
- Communicates complex information clearly to relevant audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to react to and keep up with quickly changing technical events and requirements.
- Ability to quickly understand the wider impacts of changes and technical issues.
- Degree level qualification (Computing / Computer Science or related discipline).
Nice to have
- Development of Scripting Languages including Python, JS and Node.
- Knowledge of building automation.
- Experience using the Cloud technologies like AWS/Azure/GCP
