Studio Manager - Boutique Pilates.

PART TIMEPEOPLE & OPS$35K–55K/MO

About Mantra Fitness
Mantra Fitness is a boutique fitness brand built on strength, connection, and elevated standards. Rooted in the Mantra Method, our studios deliver a premium experience that blends physical challenge, thoughtful programming, and genuine community. We are growing intentionally and looking for leaders who take ownership, execute with excellence, and care deeply about people and performance.

Role Purpose

The Studio Manager is the operational and cultural leader of a single Mantra Fitness location. This role is fully accountable for studio performance, team leadership, and delivering a consistently elevated member experience.

This is not a passive management role. The Studio Manager owns execution — day-to-day operations, staff performance, sales outcomes, and community engagement. Success is measured by clearly defined performance metrics, not effort alone.

Core Accountabilities

The Studio Manager is accountable for:

  • Financial performance of their assigned studio
  • Quality and consistency of the member experience
  • Performance, engagement, and retention of front desk staff
  • Operational readiness, cleanliness, and safety of the studio
  • Upholding Mantra Fitness brand standards and culture daily

Key Responsibilities

Studio Operations

  • Open and close the studio according to established SOPs
  • Ensure daily cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the studio
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and retail items; place orders as needed
  • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Schedule front desk staff to ensure full coverage during operating hours
  • Hire, onboard, train, and coach front desk associates
  • Set clear expectations around customer service, hospitality, and professionalism
  • Lead regular staff meetings and team huddles
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and address gaps directly
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ownership

Member Experience & Community

  • Serve as a visible, present leader in the studio
  • Greet members and build strong, professional relationships
  • Handle member questions, concerns, and escalations with empathy and authority
  • Support onboarding of new members to ensure clarity around programming and policies
  • Promote studio events, challenges, specials, and community initiatives

Scheduling & Instructor Support

  • Manage class schedules, instructor shifts, and substitute coverage using ClubReady
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to instructors, staff, and members
  • Track attendance, waitlists, and cancellations to optimize utilization
  • Support instructors with in-studio needs, equipment, and transitions

Business Development & Local Marketing

  • Execute local B2B marketing initiatives in partnership with leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners
  • Coordinate with the Social Media & Marketing Manager on promotions and content
  • Represent Mantra Fitness at local events and grassroots marketing efforts

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Submit accurate weekly reports covering attendance, sales, retention, and KPIs
  • Proactively communicate operational or performance issues to leadership
  • Collaborate with the Master Trainer on instructor support and development
  • Partner with administrative and HR teams on hiring, onboarding, and compliance

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Studio Managers are evaluated on the performance of one studio, including:

  • Class Utilization Percentage
  • Lead-to-Membership Conversion Rate
  • Member Retention Rate
  • Monthly Studio Revenue vs. Goal
  • Net Membership Growth
  • Front Desk Staff Retention and Engagement
  • Customer Satisfaction (CSAT / NPS)
  • Cleanliness and Brand Standards Audit Scores
  • Number of Local Partnerships and Community Events
  • Accuracy and Timeliness of Reporting

Performance bonuses and continued role growth are tied directly to these metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in customer-facing operations or team management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfort using ClubReady, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools
  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in boutique fitness, hospitality, or studio management
  • Familiarity with Pilates, Lagree, or group training environments
  • Certified instructor or interest in teaching/subbing classes (if certified)

Role Alignment & Governance

  • Studio Managers own execution at the studio level
  • Director-level roles own standards, coaching, and multi-studio performance
  • This role may evolve as the company grows
  • Studio Managers are required to review and acknowledge this role description quarterly to ensure clarity and alignment

Definition of Success

A successful Studio Manager operates a studio that:

  • Meets or exceeds revenue, utilization, and retention goals
  • Runs smoothly with minimal reactive intervention
  • Has a well-trained, engaged front desk team with low turnover
  • Delivers a consistently elevated, welcoming member experience
  • Reflects the professionalism, culture, and standards of Mantra Fitness

Compensation & Performance Alignment

This role includes a competitive base salary and a performance-based bonus structure designed to reward strong execution and consistent results.

Base Salary Range:
$35,000–$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility.

Compensation Philosophy

Compensation for this role is directly aligned with performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and adherence to Mantra Fitness standards and values.

Specific salary, bonus eligibility, teaching expectations, and review cadence are outlined in individual offer letters and the Compensation & Incentives Guide. Compensation may evolve based on performance, tenure, and business needs.
