The successful applicant will be responsible for hardware design. The position includes design, development, validation, and production of advanced electronic hardware for electro-optical, imaging, sensing, and instrumentation systems. This position combines PCB design, circuit development, hardware integration, and laboratory validation into a single engineering role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware and printed circuit boards.
- Support schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and engineering documentation.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and debug prototype electronic assemblies.
- Perform electrical testing and hardware validation using laboratory instrumentation.
- Analyze test data, identify issues, and recommend design improvements.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop products from concept through production.
- Support manufacturing, prototype builds, and engineering change activities.
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
•
Internship, undergraduate research, senior design project, or personal project experience involving electronic hardware or PCB design.
•
Familiarity with analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
•
Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar through coursework or project work.
•
Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, soldering, and hardware debugging.
•
Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and logic analyzers.
•
Basic programming or scripting experience (Python, C/C++, or MATLAB) for test automation or data analysis is a plus.

Exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGA-based hardware, including experience with firmware development, is desirable.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical work clearly.
•
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
