About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Team Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance, operation, and performance of water pump and evaporation systems at a large-scale Bitcoin mining facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining reliable cooling systems, preventing equipment overheating, and supporting safe, efficient, and continuous mining operations.

The supervisor will lead a team of maintenance personnel, coordinate daily activities, monitor equipment performance, and ensure preventative and corrective maintenance is completed effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical maintenance experience, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain industrial equipment in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a team of technicians and operators responsible for the operation and maintenance of water pumps and evaporation systems.
• Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members are knowledgeable about safety procedures, operational protocols, and maintenance best practices.
• Schedule and coordinate daily activities, including routine checks, maintenance, and emergency repairs.

• Oversee the operation of water pumps and evaporation systems to ensure efficient cooling of bitcoin mining equipment.
• Monitor system performance through data analysis and real-time monitoring tools, ensuring optimal operation and identifying potential issues.
• Perform and supervise regular maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspections, and repairs of pumps, pipes, and other components.

• Quickly diagnose and resolve issues with pumps, valves, and evaporation systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, operations, inventory, construction, and Electrical, to address and resolve any cooling-related challenges that impact bitcoin mining operations.

• Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain records of system performance, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
• Manage inventory levels of spare parts, chemicals, and other materials needed for system operation and maintenance.

• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of necessary resources.

• Prepare and present reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and team productivity to upper management.
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of cooling operations.

What you'll bring

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of experience in industrial pump systems, HVAC, or a related field
• 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of water pump and evaporation system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cooling systems used in high-energy environments, such as data centers or bitcoin mining facilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Physical requirements and work environment

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (50 pounds)
• Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)
• Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures

• PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots).
• Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
• Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents.
