Job Title Thesis – Voice Interaction for Intercom Devices Job Description Category Software Engineering, Speech and Language Technology Scope 1-2 Master thesis students or 2 Bachelor thesis students Background Intercom devices provide a voice-first experience. What if we could enable the software to hear and speak when a call goes unanswered? Could we improve accessibility for people with visual or hearing impairments too? To explore this, several research areas are available: Lip-syncing: Supporting lip-readers during audio calls using virtual avatars. Specialized audio transcription: Enhancing speech-to-text accuracy in noisy environments. On-device speech synthesis: Generating speech in resource-constrained environments. Prosody modeling: Creating natural rhythm and intonation in generated speech. Language identification: Automatically detecting spoken languages in real time. Goal If any of these topics interest you, we can define a tailored thesis or project goal together. For instance: Developing a lightweight ML model that predicts natural prosody from text at minimal runtime cost. Building a real-time speech analysis pipeline to drive expressive live avatars. Implementing robust call transcription or automatic language detection to allow instant responses in the speaker's language. Who are you? Master or Bachelor student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. OK, I am interested! What do I do now? You are valuable to us – how nice that you are interested in one of our proposals! There are a few things for you to keep in mind when applying.
