Sales Finance Manager – CPG/FMCG.

SALES & MARKETING
Job Description : About us With over 200 brands sold in nearly 180 countries, Diageo is home to some of the world’s most iconic drinks. From Johnnie Walker anda Guinness to Tanqueray, Smirnoff and Don Julio, we craft brands chosen for life’s moments — from everyday connections to landmark celebrations. Bring your talent, curiosity and ambition, and strive for your personal best alongside people who challenge, support and learn from each other. Together, as one outstanding team, we keep learning, improving and raising the bar for our brands, our business and each other. Join us and play your part in making life’s moments mean a little more. About the Function Finance at Diageo is about more than the numbers, it’s about shaping the decisions behind them. From guiding investment to unlocking growth, this team plays a critical role in how we perform today and how we plan for tomorrow. You’ll work with data, insight and digital tools to influence strategy and help drive a business that operates at global scale. It’s a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same, and where you’ll be supported to build your skills, grow your career and make a real impact. Purpose Of The Role This role goes beyond traditional Sales Finance reporting and performance tracking. We are looking for a commercially curious Finance professional who can connect the dots across customers, channels, brands and the broader organization, challenge conventional thinking and use data, analytics and emerging tools to improve the quality and speed of decision making. The role will help shape commercial priorities through scenario planning, forward-looking insights and strong business partnership — balancing financial discipline with an agile, growth-oriented mindset. Top Accountabilities: Leverage analytics, visualization, forecasting technology and emerging AI-enabled tools to improve decision making, identify patterns and simplify how Finance generates and communicates insights. Take ownership from insight through execution, following recommendations through to business action and measuring whether decisions delivered the expected impact. Act as a strategic Finance business partner to Sales leaders, bringing an independent point of view and translating financial, commercial and market information into clear recommendations and actions. Support delivery of the financial plan across P&L, cash and balance sheet metrics, with a strong focus on understanding the drivers behind performance and what the business should do next. Lead and support scenario planning around customer, channel, pricing, promotion, investment and Route to Consumer decisions, helping leaders understand trade-offs, risks and opportunities. Partner with Sales teams to translate commercial priorities into annual operating plans and forecasts while continuously challenging assumptions and identifying alternative paths to deliver performance. Manage and optimize trade investment through strong financial and commercial analysis, moving beyond budget tracking to evaluate returns, effectiveness and opportunities to redeploy investment. Identify emerging commercial opportunities and risks through customer, channel, competitor and financial analysis and translate them into simple, actionable business recommendations. Turn complex analysis into clear stories and recommendations that influence senior stakeholders — not simply reports, models or financial outputs. Connect insights and capabilities across Sales, Revenue Growth Management, Brand Finance, Marketing, Supply, Innovation and the broader Finance organization, ensuring the business benefits from the full range of expertise available across Diageo. Operate effectively in an evolving commercial environment, demonstrating agility, resilience and comfort with ambiguity, while proactively identifying solutions rather than waiting for direction. Maintain strong financial controls and stewardship, ensuring commercial decisions operate within Diageo’s financial and compliance framework. Continuously challenge how Finance works, identifying opportunities to automate, simplify or eliminate low-value activity and create more capacity for forward-looking commercial insight and decision support. Key Interactions: Business partner with regional Sales leaders and teams, providing both support and constructive challenge to improve commercial and financial performance. Work closely with the Sales Finance Director and broader Finance organization to deliver regional priorities and financial commitments. Build strong connections across Revenue Growth Management, Brand Finance, Marketing, Supply, Innovation, Commercial and other Finance teams, bringing together different perspectives to solve business challenges. Influence stakeholders across functions and levels through clear financial storytelling, strong commercial judgment and fact-based recommendations. Critical Finance Capabilities: Business Performance Management Digital & AI Curiosity Analytics, Data Visualization & Insights Financial Planning & Forecasting Commercial Decision Support Customer & Channel Economics Trade Investment Management Depletion / Demand Planning Analytics & Insights Internal Control & Financial Stewardship Qualifications and Experienced Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant Finance or analytically driven business experience. We are open to diverse backgrounds including Finance, Commercial Finance, Sales Finance, Brand Finance, Supply Finance, CPG/FMCG, consumer-focused Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or other environments that have developed strong commercial and financial judgment. Experience within CPG/FMCG or another complex consumer environment is highly valued. Experience beyond beverage alcohol is welcomed and can bring valuable external perspective. Strong Finance fundamentals and commercial acumen, with the ability to understand financial performance while connecting it to broader customer, consumer and business dynamics. Demonstrated ability to move beyond reporting by translating complex financial and commercial information into clear insights, choices and recommendations. Strong analytical capability with experience using data, forecasting, visualization or modeling tools — combined with the ability to explain the story behind the analysis to non-Finance stakeholders. Curiosity about AI, automation, digital analytics and emerging Finance technologies, with an interest in experimenting with new ways of solving problems and improving decision making.
