APM Terminals At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey. What We Can Offer At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work. Develop your skills through extensive exposure to maintenance supervision and coordination in a shift-working environment. Build experience across terminal operations, complex electronic systems, and different equipment, processes and maintenance techniques. Gain exposure to worldwide terminal operations and work-management activities through participation in the global maintenance community. Develop experience relevant to future opportunities in maintenance coordination, planning, equipment specialism and equipment management. Key Responsibilities Direct RTG and RSP Foremen and technicians to safely and efficiently execute planned, scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities while maintaining work quality, workplace safety and accurate records. Ensure appropriate risk assessments, work permits and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures are in place and understood before maintenance work begins. Monitor maintenance work orders end to end, from issue through final close-out, applying global standards and procedures for work execution and management. Coordinate with Warehouse and Inventory teams to ensure spare parts, materials and specialist tools are available to support scheduled and out-of-standard-hours maintenance activities. Supervise shift teams, resolve technical or safety queries and ensure effective handovers and clear communication between shifts and relevant stakeholders. Ensure assets are returned to operations in line with required integrity and safety standards, while maintaining the quality and history of maintenance work performed. Monitor maintenance and repair costs and KPIs, improve technician utilisation and hands-on tool time, and provide feedback on equipment repair strategies and shift resource effectiveness. What We Are Looking For Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time. Bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in an operational shift-working environment, ideally with exposure to asset-intensive operations and complex planning, prioritisation and resource-management scenarios. Demonstrate an understanding of asset maintenance planning and scheduling principles, processes, requirements and metrics, with the ability to organise and deploy shift-working resources effectively. Apply strong discipline, quality awareness and work-management practices, ensuring actions, documentation and work-order records are properly completed and closed out. Communicate and collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment, with good written and verbal English and respect for employees, authorities and other stakeholders. Bring an understanding of maintenance software data systems and their interfaces; troubleshooting and PLC programming experience will be an advantage.
