In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Participates in assessment of patient Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s) Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care Administers medication as ordered by physician Facilitates a safe environment Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately Maintains required competencies Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care Establishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staff Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen Actively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient services Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicable Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure Unit Description: We are nationally recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospital for Cardiac care and Coronary Intervention We provide comprehensive cardiac services enhanced with the use of state-of-the-art equipment.
