Project Sales Representative.

SALES & MARKETING$67.5K–101.3K/YR
Job Description: Role Overview Develop turnkey mechanical and plumbing retrofit solutions for commercial customers. Evaluate mechanical systems, facility needs, operating considerations, drawings, equipment, and job conditions to recommend repair, modification, or replacement solutions. Build relationships with prospective and existing customers while supporting projects through estimating, proposal development, presentation, and follow-up. Help customers understand how proposed solutions can improve facility performance and reduce long-term ownership and operating costs. What You’ll Do You’ll spend your time learning about customers’ facilities, understanding the technical and financial challenges they face, and shaping solutions that meet their needs. You’ll survey mechanical and plumbing systems, interpret drawings and specifications, and partner with customers and internal operations partners to define a clear project scope. From there, you’ll develop estimates and design-build proposals that explain recommended repairs, modifications, or replacements. You’ll present solutions, respond to questions and objections, follow up on opportunities, and keep customers informed throughout the sales process. By balancing technical insight with strong relationship management, you’ll help turn facility challenges into effective, cost-conscious projects. Review drawings and specifications to determine scope, materials, resources, costs, and project requirements. Prepare and present customer proposals, including responses to requests for proposals and project-specific solutions. Qualify prospective customers, respond promptly to leads and referrals, and maintain an active pipeline of quotes. Address customer concerns and build productive relationships with customers, vendors, and other project partners. Maintain accurate records of customer activity, proposals, and business transactions. Why This Role Matters You’ll help customers make informed decisions about the performance, reliability, and long-term operating costs of their facilities. Your technical recommendations will help customers and operations teams develop a shared understanding of project needs. You’ll build lasting customer relationships while creating new business opportunities. Your estimates and proposals will help transform complex mechanical and plumbing needs into clear, actionable solutions. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications An associate degree in construction science, HVAC, or a related field, or achievement of journey-level status in a relevant trade. Four or more years of experience working with HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components. Four or more years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships. Ability to assess mechanical and plumbing systems, interpret drawings and jobsite conditions, and recommend appropriate solutions. Understanding of the energy savings associated with proposed facility solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. A motor vehicle record that meets company guidelines. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in business, a technical discipline, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Sales experience, particularly in a technical, construction, or facility-services environment. Experience preparing financial justification for proposed solutions, including energy-savings considerations. Experience with industrial refrigeration. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Physical Requirements Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and perform routine computer-based tasks. Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops and elevated walkways, and work in hot or cold weather conditions. Ability to use small hand and electrical tools, carry and wear a backpack, and remove equipment panels during inspections.
