BASIC FUNCTION: Perform lab testing on in-process and finished products; record and report results in order to ensure highest standards of quality are met or exceeded and in compliance with federal, state, and company specifications PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Gathers samples for analytical testing and performs various laboratory tests on products, raw materials, ingredients and lab samples to determine if they meet necessary requirements. Prepares samples of products for future reference and documents results. Examines results of audit tests to identify problems with such things as sanitation and manufacturing processes. Enters laboratory data into computer system. Alert management when products are out of specification. Responsible for reporting food safety or quality problems to management and assists in appropriate personnel. Examines inventory to determine what supplies need to be ordered and informs appropriate personnel. Trains other employees on the proper use of equipment and procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
