Job Description: This position requires effective teaching and advising techniques for a diverse student population, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The successful candidate will teach culinary skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career. Mastery in food sanitation and safety is essential, as well as in-depth knowledge of kitchen utensils and appliances. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to review and make recommendations for curriculum updates, select textbooks, prepare lesson plans and instructional aides, and deliver class material in a logical manner while maintaining high standards of conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a dynamic classroom setting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an associate degree and 4 years of relevant work experience in culinary; appropriate occupational certification may be a substitute for two years of relevant work experience.
