National Accounts Director – Commercial Fleet Battery Solutions

Lead the Transition from Lead-Acid to Sodium-Ion

About Our Client:

CSI is a fast-growing battery technology company and market leading provider of transportable Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), high-quality advanced battery systems for commercial electric vehicles, and low voltage batteries and electrification components to the North American commercial vehicle market. The company is focused on delivering next-generation 12V battery solutions to the commercial transportation industry. Our portfolio includes new innovative sodium-ion technology designed to improve fleet reliability, safety, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.

The Opportunity

The National Accounts Director will be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with the largest truck fleets, leasing companies, fleet maintenance organizations, OEMs, dealer networks, and transportation providers throughout North America. You will play a key role in introducing sodium-ion technology to a market historically dominated by lead-acid batteries while simultaneously growing established battery business across major fleet customers.

This is not a territory sales role. This is a strategic business development position focused on creating long-term enterprise partnerships with the most influential fleets in the industry.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an industry veteran with established commercial fleet relationships and a proven track record in the lead-acid battery industry, selling battery, aftermarket, maintenance, or transportation solutions to the largest fleets in North America. The ideal candidate brings an existing book of business, deep knowledge of traditional battery technologies, and the ability to successfully transition customers to next-generation solutions.

This role requires someone who can effectively articulate the total cost of ownership (TCO) advantages of CSI's innovative 12V Sodium-Ion battery technology, helping customers understand the long-term operational, financial, and sustainability benefits of adopting this emerging technology.

Preferred Industry Experience: We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working for leading battery manufacturers or distributors, including Clarios, East Penn Manufacturing, EnerSys, Exide Technologies, C&D Technologies, Continental Battery Systems, Interstate Batteries, or similar organizations within the lead-acid battery industry.

This is a rare opportunity to help define an emerging battery category while leveraging existing relationships across the trucking and transportation industry.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

Most battery sales roles focus on defending existing business. This role is about shaping the future of commercial fleet energy storage.

You will have the opportunity to leverage your existing fleet relationships to introduce one of the most promising alternatives to traditional lead-acid batteries while helping fleets reduce maintenance costs, improve reliability, and prepare for the next generation of vehicle electrification.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop executive-level relationships within major transportation fleets and leasing organizations.

• Drive adoption of both lead-acid and sodium-ion battery solutions.

• Secure national supply agreements and multi-year strategic partnerships.

• Build relationships with fleet maintenance, procurement, engineering, operations, sustainability, and executive leadership teams.

• Identify opportunities to improve fleet uptime, battery reliability, maintenance costs, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with distributors, truck dealers, service networks, and channel partners.

• Lead strategic account planning and executive business reviews.

• Represent the company at major industry events including:

  • American Trucking Associations (ATA)
  • Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC)
  • National Private Truck Council (NPTC)
  • Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW)
  • Fleet and transportation industry conferences

• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to executive leadership.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of national account sales experience.

• Demonstrated success selling into commercial transportation and fleet markets.

• Existing relationships with major fleet organizations.

• Experience negotiating national contracts and enterprise agreements.

• History of exceeding sales targets and building long-term customer partnerships.

• Ability to work independently in a high-growth environment.
