  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to support offshore field operations, testing, or vessel trials when required.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Test Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, and integration of complex electromechanical assemblies used in advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) systems.

This contract opportunity focuses on executing subsystem end-of-line (EOL) tests, inspecting electronic assemblies, diagnosing electrical issues, and supporting pressure vessel production and testing processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure test quality, accurately document results, troubleshoot hardware issues, and help meet production milestones.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a detail-oriented test technician with a strong electronics background and practical experience executing test procedures in a manufacturing or technical environment.

The ideal candidate can independently operate electrical test equipment, interpret schematics and engineering drawings, diagnose circuit-level issues, and maintain accurate test documentation.

Strong candidates will combine hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Experience with subsea robotics, underwater systems, or pressure vessel testing is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & System Integration

  • Support pressure vessel assembly and testing as part of AUV integration.
  • Build, test, and integrate complex electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Execute subsystem end-of-line (EOL) tests according to established procedures and documentation.
  • Prepare, configure, and execute detailed test procedures to verify assembly performance.
  • Configure devices by flashing and loading specified software and firmware versions.
  • Support testing and integration activities to meet production requirements.

Electronics Inspection & Troubleshooting

  • Perform incoming quality inspection testing on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and electronic circuits down to the component level.
  • Use digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, benchtop power supplies, and function generators to investigate electrical issues.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Identify hardware issues and support corrective actions to maintain product quality.

Pressure Vessel Production & Process Improvement

  • Support the refinement, documentation, and continuous improvement of pressure vessel production and test processes.
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting activities related to pressure vessel systems.
  • Follow established procedures and technical specifications throughout manufacturing and testing.
  • Contribute to improvements in test efficiency, consistency, and reliability.

Quality, Documentation & Safety

  • Maintain 5S standards across test benches and work areas.
  • Perform physical part inspections and close out assigned work orders.
  • Accurately document test procedures, results, and identified issues.
  • Follow facility safety protocols and established testing procedures.
  • Maintain test integrity and attention to detail throughout all assigned activities.

Equipment & Laboratory Support

  • Support equipment upkeep and calibration tracking.
  • Maintain tooling organization and laboratory inventory.
  • Keep test benches and work areas organized and ready for testing.
  • Help ensure test equipment and tools are maintained appropriately.

Offshore Operations & Field Testing

  • Support offshore field operations, testing, or vessel trials when required.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and testing during field activities.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures during operational support.

Required Qualifications

  • Solid electronics background in a relevant technical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and executing detailed test procedures.
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and circuit theory.
  • Ability to read and work from technical documentation, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on proficiency with standard electrical test equipment, including:
    • Digital multimeters (DMMs)
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Benchtop power supplies
    • Function generators
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, organization, and test integrity.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to support offshore field operations, testing, or vessel trials when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with subsea robotics, AUVs, UUVs, or underwater equipment.
  • Experience safely handling electrical systems up to 400 VDC.
  • Subsea cable splicing, potting, or custom wire harness fabrication experience.
  • Experience with hydrostatic test setups, pressure vessels, or high-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Current or previous IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing or prototype-to-production environments.
