**About Us**

At Scimitar, we are a boutique consulting firm that partners with clients to deliver strategic insights and innovative solutions. Our work doesn’t stop at developing strategies—we lead our clients through implementation, ensuring lasting, real-world impact. Our culture is rooted in collaboration, entrepreneurial spirit, and continuous improvement.

**Role Overview**

As a Principal, you will lead and oversee multiple high-impact client engagements, providing strategic direction and ensuring exceptional results. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building trusted relationships, driving business growth, and ensuring that the strategic objectives of both Scimitar and our clients are consistently met. You’ll also contribute to the firm’s growth by mentoring colleagues, supporting internal initiatives, and embodying Scimitar’s values.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Exceptional Client Delivery: Lead client engagements from strategy to execution, ensuring projects exceed expectations and deliver long-lasting value. Serve as a key leader in helping clients navigate their most complex challenges.
  • Strategic Mindset: Develop high-level strategies that align with client goals and translate them into actionable plans for the project team. Adjust strategies dynamically to meet evolving client needs and maintain alignment with long-term objectives.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Apply structured problem-solving frameworks and data-driven analysis to address root causes of client challenges. Guide teams to develop practical, innovative solutions that deliver measurable results.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders. Act as a strategic advisor, ensuring client satisfaction while managing expectations and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Present complex strategies and solutions clearly and persuasively to clients. Adapt communication styles to suit different audiences and create compelling narratives that support decision-making.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across all aspects of the project. Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Business Growth: Build relationships with senior client stakeholders and actively identify opportunities to expand Scimitar’s role within existing accounts. Support business development efforts by identifying client needs and securing follow-on engagements that align with Scimitar’s capabilities.
  • Proactivity & Self-Motivation: Demonstrate initiative by identifying new opportunities for client engagement and business growth. Drive results by taking ownership of tasks and ensuring the successful execution of all client engagements.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: Lead teams through dynamic project environments, adjusting strategies to meet changing client needs. Maintain high levels of performance and flexibility in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.
  • Humility: Embrace feedback and use it as an opportunity for growth, both for yourself and for your team. Provide constructive feedback to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

**Required Skills and Competencies**

  • Extensive experience in managing complex consulting engagements, particularly within the life sciences sector (Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, etc.).
  • Fluent in the strategic use of AI tools and large language models (LLMs) to enhance client outcomes and accelerate project execution. Actively shapes how AI is embedded into consulting delivery and mentors teams on its thoughtful application.
  • Ability to provide strategic leadership and connect high-level business goals with practical, impactful execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop data-driven solutions that address core challenges.
  • Collaborative mindset, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior executives.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

**Qualifications**

  • 7+ years of business management or consulting experience (9+ years in lieu of advanced degree), with at least 5+ years in the life sciences sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
