The Sanitation Porter will be responsible for keeping working areas in the production department in a clean and orderly condition. This operation is to be performed to keep safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the plant's food safety culture and complying with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
- Clean and sanitize production floors in accordance with facility cleaning schedules.
- Remove trash and food waste from designated areas; ensure waste is disposed of properly.
- Sweep, mop, scrub floors; operate floor-cleaning equipment as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of loading docks and entryways.
- Assist with cleaning production areas needed.
- Follow proper chemical handling procedures and maintain accurate chemical usage logs.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs and all company safety policies.
- Report maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
- Support special cleaning projects during plant shutdowns or as directed.
Adapts to shifting priorities and assists wherever needed to meet company goals
Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1+ year of experience in janitorial, sanitation, or facility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices
- Understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards.
- Ability to read and follow safety instructions and cleaning schedules.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights
