Job Summary The HSE Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and continuously improving our Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems. This position is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating risk management initiatives, driving employee engagement in HSE programs, analyzing and communicating key performance metrics, and fostering a strong safety culture across the site. The successful candidate will be highly visible within the operation, partnering closely with employees and leaders to implement best practices, support training and audits, investigate incidents, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Principal Responsibilities Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HSE programs, procedures, training, and work instructions. Promote employee engagement in HSE initiatives and foster a proactive safety culture. Conduct gap assessments, support audits, and develop corrective action plans to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance. Lead and support incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental investigations, ensuring timely follow-up of corrective actions. Manage regulatory and workers' compensation reporting requirements and support claims management activities. Support Joint Health and Safety Committee initiatives and site risk management processes. Partner with operational teams to develop and improve site-specific controls, programs, and safe work practices. Assess proposed changes to equipment, materials, and processes to identify potential HSE impacts and recommend controls. Maintain HSE documentation, databases, records, policies, procedures, and training materials. Support environmental compliance activities and maintain HSE performance metrics, reports, and KPIs. Administer hazardous materials programs and related training requirements.
