The Job:
- Continuous Integration and Deployment:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
- Ensure the smooth integration of code changes across development, testing, and production environments.
- Infrastructure Automation:
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure components.
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Implement and manage monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application and system performance.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices in all aspects of infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to understand their requirements and provide effective solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and challenges.
- Problem Resolution:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and application performance.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotation schedule.
- Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements
The Person:
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, with practical exposure to AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby.
- Experience assisting with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native development environments.
- Working knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with troubleshooting issues in Kubernetes or cloud infrastructure.
- Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, code organisation, and naming conventions.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adopt best practices in automation and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) will be an added advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar are a plus.
