Title: Machine Operator
Starting Pay Rate: $19.00/hr
Location:  Buckeye Lake, OH
Job Type: Full Time | Non-Exempt
Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:30am - 4:00pm  (NOTE: start and end times may vary based on business needs)

Who You Are:

You’re someone who takes pride in doing things the right way — with consistency, care, and attention to detail. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used to fill and package our finished cannabis products, including vaporizers, pre-rolls, and flower pre-packs. You understand how to keep production running smoothly, troubleshoot issues when they arise, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

You communicate well, stay organized, and can work independently while knowing when to loop in your team. You take ownership of your work, support your teammates, and stay focused on production goals without cutting corners on quality or safety.

What You’ll Do:

As a Machine Operator Technician at Curaleaf, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment to support the efficient, safe, and consistent filling and packaging of finished products. You’ll work hands-on to monitor performance, communicate equipment needs, and uphold production and safety standards. In this role, you will:

  • Operate, clean, change-over, and maintain production equipment while monitoring performance and documenting issues
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reduce downtime, and coordinate repairs with maintenance and vendors
  • Maintain tools and spare parts, support preventative maintenance schedules, and ensure equipment readiness
  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and compliance standards while supporting continuous improvement efforts, including 5S and waste reduction
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leads, adapt to production priorities, and assist in training new operators
  • Perform required physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience operating and maintaining manufacturing or production equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow standard operating procedures
  • Clear and professional communication skills across teams and levels
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
  • Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces as needed
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, organization, and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of weights, measurements, and documentation accuracy
  • Customer- and quality-focused mindset, with dedication to operational excellence
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, and reach repetitively for extended periods (8–10 hour shifts)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs routinely, with occasional heavier lifting using assistance
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in low or confined spaces when needed
  • Ability to work at a computer or screen for extended periods and maintain close vision for reading small print
  • Ability to use all required PPE, including masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to environments with high humidity, varying temperatures, and strong odors (such as cannabis)
  • Exposure to soil, water, fertilizer, dust, pollen and plant pathogens
  • Exposure to cleaning solvents, such as high volumes of isopropyl alcohol
  • Exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms

***Please note that U.S. immigration rules and regulations are governed by federal law; not state law.  Although Curaleaf operates in states that have legalized and decriminalized marijuana, it is still considered a controlled substance under federal regulations and thus illegal under federal law. For this reason, unless and until federal law changes, Curaleaf is prohibited from offering sponsorship for any non-immigrant or immigrant visas.

***Please also note that while candidates who are Lawful Permanent Residents (such as those with Green Cards) are eligible for employment with, and are hired by Curaleaf, working for a company engaged in a business that grows and sells a product that is illegal under federal law might compromise the candidate’s immigration status. Before a Lawful Permanent Resident accepts an offer of employment, Curaleaf recommends that the candidate seek the advice of an immigration lawyer.
