NextGen Internship Program - Summer 2027.

INTERNSHIPINTERNSALES & MARKETING

About the Company

RNGD is a rapidly scaling organization emerging as a nationally recognized leader in construction through our unique Renegade mindset focused on innovation, creativity, and culture. We are creators who believe that what we build drives the growth of our cities and that fulfilling our mission requires constantly challenging the old way of doing things. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, RNGD is building communities, teams, leaders, and a growing business throughout the Southeast, with offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.

About the Role

Join RNGD’s NextGen Summer 2027 Internship Program and spend your summer gaining hands-on experience alongside the teams building some of the region’s most exciting projects. As a Project Engineer Intern, you’ll become part of an active project team and gain exposure to both project management and field operations. You’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents while learning how projects move from plans and schedules to real-world execution.

NextGen is designed to be more than a summer job. You’ll take on meaningful assignments, learn from industry professionals, build relationships across RNGD, participate in development and networking opportunities, and collaborate with fellow interns on a special NextGen internship project.

Internship Experience Opportunities

Project Management & Coordination

  • Support project teams with day-to-day coordination, documentation, and project controls.
  • Gain hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, drawings, schedules, and other project documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with tracking commitments and follow-up.
  • Support subcontractor, supplier, and material coordination.

Field & Construction Operations

  • Spend time in the field learning how project plans translate into construction.
  • Participate in site walks and observe project progress, quality, safety, logistics, and trade coordination.
  • Assist with punch lists, inspections, closeout activities, and project documentation.
  • Learn how project and field teams work together to solve problems and keep projects moving.

Preconstruction, Cost & Schedule Exposure

  • Gain exposure to estimating, subcontractor bids, procurement, buyout, scheduling, and project cost management.
  • Assist with tracking project milestones, material deliveries, and schedule impacts.
  • Learn how RFIs, design changes, and field conditions can affect project cost and schedule.
  • Support additional project-management activities based on project needs and your developing capabilities.

The NextGen Experience

  • Learn directly from experienced construction professionals and leaders across RNGD.
  • Participate in professional development, networking, and learning opportunities throughout the summer.
  • Collaborate with fellow NextGen interns on a special internship project.
  • Build familiarity with RNGD’s technology, processes, culture, and approach to construction.
  • Receive ongoing coaching, feedback, and opportunities to take on greater responsibility throughout the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in construction, project management, and building a career in the industry.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Curious, dependable, collaborative, and willing to learn in both office and field environments.
  • Comfortable taking initiative, asking questions, and owning assigned responsibilities.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, or other construction technology is a plus.
  • Ability to work at an assigned RNGD office and/or project site for the duration of the Summer 2027 internship.
