Robot Assembly Technician
San Francisco, CA · On-site · Full-time · Expected hours: 40 per week
At Weave, we build practical and delightful robots that help people with everyday tasks. We’re already shipping robots to customers and growing our assembly and manufacturing teams.
As an Assembly Technician, you’ll build, inspect, and help test our robots. Most of your work will focus on mechanical assembly, with opportunities to contribute to wiring and troubleshooting as your experience allows. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll work closely with other technicians and engineers to solve build issues and improve how our robots are made.
We’re looking for capable, hands-on builders who take pride in their work and enjoy figuring out how things fit and function.
What You’ll Do
Assemble robots and subassemblies using drawings, work instructions, and appropriate tools.
Check build quality, including fit, alignment, fastener torque, and cable routing. Identify and communicate issues early.
Support integration and testing by installing motors, sensors, and wiring and assisting with basic functional checks.
Help improve production by sharing feedback, incorporating approved changes, and keeping accurate build records.
Keep your workspace ready with organized parts, well-maintained tools, and safe working practices.
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of hands-on mechanical or electromechanical assembly experience, or comparable professional experience building and repairing complex hardware. Robotics experience is welcome but not required.
Confidence using hand tools, torque drivers, and basic measuring tools.
Ability to follow drawings and assembly instructions, identify the correct parts, and inspect your own work.
Solid mechanical judgment and the ability to complete familiar tasks independently after onboarding to our hardware and procedures.
Careful workmanship, reliable follow-through, and clear communication. You’re comfortable with both repeat builds and evolving designs.
Helpful, But Not Required
Experience with wiring, harness assembly, soldering, electrical testing, troubleshooting, or fabrication is a plus.
You don’t need to know every process we use. Strong mechanical assembly fundamentals and a willingness to learn our systems are what matter most.
Have a build or repair project you’re proud of? We’d welcome a brief description or photos of work you’re able to share. This is optional - examples from your professional experience are equally welcome.
If you enjoy building things and care about making them work reliably, we’d like to hear from you.
