Company: Marsh Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Applications Development team, part of our Marsh Risk Tech business at Marsh. This role will be based in Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Java Full Stack Developer - Applications Development As a Java Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Java technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients' needs. We will count on you to: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java technologies, frameworks, and libraries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Develop and implement software solutions that are scalable, efficient, and maintainable. Write clean, well-designed, and testable code following best practices and coding standards. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards. Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Optimize application performance and ensure scalability. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Java development and apply them to enhance our software solutions. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. What you need to have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Java Full Stack Developer or similar role. Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate). Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks and Angular. Familiarity with database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and SQL. Knowledge of web services (RESTful APIs) and microservices architecture. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle). Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. What makes you stand out: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in Java development or related technologies. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks. Familiarity with front-end design principles and user experience (UX) concepts.
