FULL TIMEREMOTELEADERSHIPSALES & MARKETING

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Business Development (Wireless) based in the United States.

We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Director of Business Development to accelerate growth across the wireless telecommunications infrastructure market. In this remote role, you will lead regional business development initiatives throughout the Eastern United States, identifying new opportunities and building relationships with major wireless carriers and regional providers. You will connect complex infrastructure construction and engineering capabilities with customer investment priorities to secure high-value contracts and long-term partnerships. Working closely with executive leadership and operational teams, you will develop sales strategies, manage major opportunities, and drive sustainable revenue growth. You will also oversee forecasting, market analysis, and competitive positioning while representing the organization at industry events. This is an opportunity for an experienced telecom sales leader to shape regional expansion and deliver measurable commercial results.

Accountabilities

As Director of Business Development, you will implement regional growth strategies, develop strategic customer relationships, and lead business opportunities from initial prospecting through negotiation and contract execution. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Design and implement regional sales plans aligned with business development objectives and revenue targets.

    • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, sales leads, and prospective clients across the wireless infrastructure market.

    • Develop and execute strategies to acquire major sales opportunities in collaboration with marketing and other internal departments.

    • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with local wireless providers, national carriers, regional operators, and other key industry stakeholders.

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for regional and national customers and prospects, working closely with regional Vice President and General Manager leadership.

    • Develop tailored commercial approaches for Tier 1 carriers managing large-scale, multi-year capital expenditure programs, as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 providers, cooperatives, and municipalities.

    • Lead strategic sales initiatives, including proposal development, RFP responses, Master Service Agreement (MSA) negotiations, and contract closure.

    • Align infrastructure deployment capabilities with customer investment strategies, funding cycles, and regional network expansion plans.

    • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs), sharing insights and recommendations with business development leadership.

    • Prepare monthly sales forecasts and collaborate with operations teams to anticipate the resources required to deliver secured projects.

    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of market conditions, customer priorities, wireless infrastructure developments, and competitive activity.

    • Support proposal creation and develop compelling presentations that communicate technical capabilities and business value.

    • Represent the organization at local and national trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events.

    • Monitor project development, execution, and closeout considerations to ensure alignment between customer commitments and operational capabilities.

    • Undertake special assignments and additional responsibilities as required.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an accomplished business development professional with substantial telecommunications experience and the ability to translate technical infrastructure capabilities into profitable commercial opportunities. You should combine strong wireless construction knowledge with strategic sales expertise, established industry relationships, and a consistent record of exceeding revenue targets. Key qualifications include:

      • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications services sales, preferably focused on wireless infrastructure and construction.

      • At least 3 years of relevant business development experience.

      • Demonstrated success exceeding sales quotas and securing high-value infrastructure contracts.

      • Extensive knowledge of wireless construction, infrastructure deployment, engineering concepts, and network development.

      • Ability to understand and communicate both technical wireless engineering requirements and financial performance considerations.

      • Proven experience managing relationships and navigating procurement and decision-making processes across Tier 1 carriers, Tier 2 and Tier 3 providers, regional operators, cooperatives, and municipalities.

      • Experience leading RFP responses, negotiating Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and closing complex commercial agreements.

      • Strong understanding of capital project development and the ability to align deployment capabilities with customer funding cycles and investment plans.

      • Knowledge of current network architectures and evolving wireless infrastructure deployment methods.

      • Familiarity with project development, execution, and closeout processes.

      • Established relationships with local wireless providers and relevant stakeholders in the Eastern United States.

      • Experience conducting market research and identifying new business opportunities.

      • Strong sales forecasting, analytical, and commercial planning capabilities.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong proposal writing and presentation abilities.

      • Proven negotiation skills and a track record of successfully closing deals and maintaining customer relationships.

      • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing a demanding regional sales territory independently.

      • Bachelor's degree preferred.
