Tower Technicians support all aspects of telecommunication installations including the construction and maintenance of telecommunication structures. To include ensuring that work is performed in the safest manner possible by delivering a high-quality product to our customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Climbing and working on communications towers; installing, replacing, and repairing antenna equipment
- Takes direction from crew Foreman ensuring safety and quality standards are met while adhering to project budgets and timelines.
- Review documentation with Foreman to prepare for the build, assemble the necessary materials, and determine the required installation methods.
- Help supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.
- Perform tower inspections, inventories, and audits as needed.
- Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per the deliverable timelines.
- Assist training crew members on proper safety/quality standards to align with CCDP (Crew Career Development Program)
- Maintain issued equipment and reported deficiencies as needed.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Telecommunications experience
- Basic knowledge of how to perform fiber, sweep, and PIM testing.
- Ability to operate aerial lifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment as needed.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the set schedule.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education
- Valid driver’s license preferred with a driving record that meets Company requirements.
- Ability to travel away from home, including weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50 lb. load.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
