AI
Most AI story generators hand you a thin three-paragraph summary and call it done. You end up with something that reads like every other AI story on the internet. This one builds a plot you can actually write from: real conflict, turning points that matter, characters with something to lose. Pick a genre, drop in your spark, and get stories that keep your voice and don't collapse in the second act.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AI story generation
What is an AI story generator?
An AI story generator is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to create story plots, characters, and narratives. Our AI story generator creates complete storylines with back-of-book descriptions and detailed 3-act structures, helping writers overcome writer's block and find inspiration for their next story.
How does the AI story generator work?
Simply share your story ideas (optional) and select your fiction genre. Our AI will generate 5 unique story plots complete with compelling descriptions and 3-act summaries. You can then choose your favorite plot and open it directly in Sudowrite to start writing your full story.
What genres can the AI story generator create?
Our AI story generator supports 25+ fiction genres including romance, mystery, thriller, horror, fantasy, science fiction, dystopian, contemporary, historical fiction, young adult, and many more. Each generated plot is tailored to your chosen genre's conventions and reader expectations.
Do I need to provide story ideas?
No! Story ideas are completely optional. You can leave the idea field blank and our AI will generate original plots based solely on your chosen genre. However, if you do have specific themes, characters, or plot elements in mind, adding them will help create more personalized story plots.
Is the AI story generator free?
Yes! You can generate story plots for free. Once you've found a plot you love, you can open it in Sudowrite to continue writing your full story with additional AI-powered writing tools.
What is a 3-act structure?
The 3-act structure is a storytelling framework used in novels, screenplays, and stories. Act 1 introduces characters and setting, Act 2 develops conflict and rising action, and Act 3 delivers the climax and resolution. Our AI generates detailed summaries for each act to give you a complete story roadmap.
Can I use AI-generated stories commercially?
Yes! The story plots generated by our AI are yours to use. You can develop them into full novels, short stories, screenplays, or any other creative work. The AI provides the framework and inspiration - you bring it to life with your unique voice and style.
Can I generate multiple story plots?
Absolutely! You'll receive 5 different story plot options with each generation. You can generate as many times as you'd like to explore different story possibilities and find the perfect plot for your next writing project.
