About Designer Group

Designer Group is a leading international mechanical & electrical provider specialising in turnkey packages for the design, supply, and installation of M&E services. Headquartered in Dublin, we work with some of the world's largest multinational companies and our common purpose is delivering ambitious, innovative, and sustainable engineering solutions, building client partnerships that bear testament to the standards we uphold.

This investment has produced an innovative and passionate team that delivers projects for our clients safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards in the industry.

Our approach to everything we do is underpinned by our Values:

Safe | Trust | Respect | Challenge | Deliver

The Role

We’re hiring a Quality Manager (M&E) to strengthen quality across our UK operations.

This is a hands-on, site-facing role focused on ensuring right-first-time delivery across mechanical and electrical packages, from installation through to commissioning and handover.

You’ll work across multiple projects, supporting teams on site, driving standards, and resolving quality issues before they impact programme or client delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of quality across M&E works, including:

  • Implementing project quality plans, ITPs and inspection regimes.
  • Ensuring installations meet specifications, drawings and applicable standards.
  • Leading audits, inspections and quality reviews across project sites.
  • Managing NCRs, defects and corrective actions through to close-out.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning and handover readiness activities.
  • Verifying materials, plant and equipment prior to installation.
  • Monitoring subcontractor and supplier quality performance.
  • Tracking quality KPIs and providing reports to project and senior leadership teams.
  • Driving continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.
  • Working closely with Group Quality Management to ensure consistency and alignment across the business.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who understands how M&E projects are delivered and knows where quality issues typically arise.

  • Experience within M&E construction, building services, data centres, energy or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection systems and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and commissioning requirements.
  • Experience managing defects, NCRs, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Comfortable working across multiple live project sites.
  • Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
  • A background in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering is desirable; however, the ability to manage quality across both disciplines is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC/HND in a relevant discipline with a strong trade or technical background and QA/QC experience (essential).
  • Knowledge and practical application of ISO 9001 quality management systems (essential).
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (preferred).
  • Membership of CIBSE, IET, CQI or a similar professional body (preferred).

Why Join Designer Group

  • Work on high-value, technically complex M&E projects across the UK.
  • Be part of a business recognised for quality, innovation and project delivery excellence.
  • Join an organisation with a strong pipeline of work across the UK and Europe.
  • Influence quality standards and best practice across multiple projects and sectors.
  • Benefit from ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • Play a key role in supporting successful project delivery from installation through commissioning and handover.
  • Clear opportunity to develop into senior quality leadership or regional quality management roles.
