Acciona Energía is seeking a PV Field Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support for solar and battery energy storage systems across our sites. Based at our Red Tailed Hawk PV Solar Farm in the greater Houston area, this role focuses on troubleshooting, system performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance, contributing to the reliability and safety of our renewable energy assets. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Lead or support troubleshooting of inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, and power stations, responding to system faults or repeated equipment failures. Monitor performance data using SCADA, PI Vision, and implement preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring accurate documentation through Maximo or ETM. Perform Root Cause Analysis for recurring issues, contribute to site inspections and thermographic scans, and validate SCADA sensors during commissioning. Train field technicians, manage warranty coordination with OEMs, and enforce strict safety protocols through toolbox talks and incident response. Liaise with engineering, procurement, and external vendors to support retrofits, standards implementation, and component replacements. Required Skills and Competencies About You You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field from an ABET-accredited university. You bring 3–5 years of experience in utility-scale PV operations, with strong proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic tools. You’re knowledgeable about PV and BESS system components, SCADA platforms, and digital maintenance tools like Maximo. You have an OSHA 30 certification (or are willing to obtain), and are committed to upholding rigorous safety and compliance standards. You’re equipped with excellent communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and the flexibility to travel to North Texas PV sites. Benefits – we’ve got you covered!
