We're looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Finance to join our leadership team and help guide the financial future of our organization. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, combining strong business acumen with the ability to lead high-performing teams and drive operational excellence.
As Senior Director of Finance, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Leadership Team, providing financial insights that support critical business decisions, long-term growth, and organizational success.
What You'll Do
Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the company's strategic, operational, and financial goals.
- Provide financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations that drive decision-making and performance.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify opportunities for cost optimization, operational efficiency, and process improvement.
- Support merger and acquisition evaluations, due diligence efforts, and integration activities.
- Assist with financial analysis and development of grant proposals and strategic funding opportunities.
Financial Leadership & Operations
- Lead and oversee key finance and accounting functions, including:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Financial Reporting
- General Ledger Accounting
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Treasury & Cash Management
- Payroll
- Fixed Assets
- Capital Projects Accounting
- Project Controls & Finance Support
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Monitor business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Develop financial models, business cases, and performance analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Accounting, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and internal controls.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and complex business transactions.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support Board reporting, governance activities, and executive presentations.
- Assist with audit activities and ensure strong financial governance practices.
Treasury & Capital Management
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital performance.
- Support banking relationships and financing activities.
- Analyze capital investment opportunities and expenditure proposals.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive process automation and operational efficiencies across finance functions.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA and/or MBA required.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- 5+ years of management or senior finance leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple finance disciplines within a complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and internal controls.
- Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
- Advanced financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Big Four public accounting experience.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and business integrations.
- Experience working within multinational organizations.
- Telecommunications, infrastructure, utility, manufacturing, or other regulated-industry experience.
