The Role Your Role At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage, and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. As a Firmware & Vulnerability Management Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, security, and interoperability of our AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing firmware and software baselines across server, GPU, network, and platform components while assessing cybersecurity vulnerabilities, planning remediation activities, and ensuring infrastructure changes are introduced safely through rigorous testing and rollback planning. Your work will help protect platform availability while enabling secure and compliant operations at scale. Develop and maintain compatibility matrices covering server hardware, operating systems, GPUs, network devices, firmware, and drivers. Plan, coordinate, and execute firmware and patch testing activities in controlled environments before production deployment. Design and document rollback and recovery procedures to minimize operational risk during upgrades and remediation activities. Support change management processes by preparing implementation plans, risk assessments, testing evidence, and deployment documentation. Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, platform engineering, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable platform operations. Your Future at Kyndryl At Kyndryl, learning is embedded in everything we do. However, equally as important, you have a growth mindset and are keen to drive your own personal and professional development. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5+ years of experience in infrastructure lifecycle management, firmware management, vulnerability management, platform operations, or related infrastructure engineering functions. Experience managing firmware, drivers, BIOS, BMC, NIC, storage, networking, and platform software lifecycles within enterprise or data center environments. Strong understanding of vulnerability management practices, including CVE assessment, risk prioritization, remediation planning, and compliance reporting. Experience reviewing and interpreting vendor advisories, security bulletins, release notes, and interoperability documentation. Knowledge of infrastructure compatibility management across server platforms, operating systems, GPUs, networking components, and firmware releases. Hands-on experience performing patch validation, firmware testing, change implementation, and production rollout planning. Experience designing, documenting, and executing rollback and recovery procedures for infrastructure changes. Familiarity with change management, incident management, problem management, root cause analysis (RCA), and operational governance processes. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess technical risk and operational impact. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience supporting AI, GPU, HPC, or large-scale data center environments. Knowledge of server platforms from NVIDIA, Supermicro, Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, or similar enterprise infrastructure vendors.
