Assists students in setting goals and prepares them to take the GED exam. Job Specific Duties: Assists in the creation of all reports, records, and other paperwork as assigned by the District, the Agency, the Georgia Department of Education, and the Federal Government, and other paperwork that may be appropriate to the District’s administration. Keeps the supervisor informed and works cooperatively with all other staff in school, District, and Agency-related matters. Maintains a positive, collaborative, and mutually supportive working relationship with community agencies, parents, students, and Agency, District, and school staff. Instructs students on material needed in order to earn their GED Teaches basic and advanced skills encompassing Mathematical Reasoning , Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts Administers various assessments to determine comprehension and progress Creates individualized plans and modify accordingly as students’ progress Maintains accurate grades for all subjects Utilizes various curriculum resources Utilizes curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served Provide instruction to students on an individual basis Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities Maintains classroom management through the approved behavior management system Continues to grow professionally through research, study, and collaboration with colleagues. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited college or university or recognized certification in the area of vocational assignment; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Instructor 1 (EDP020) or position equivalent.--Note: Positions may require area specific certifications.
