JOB PURPOSE
Technical specialised support on LHS department products.
Assist PM in a specific area of specialized work to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, procedures, and policies are followed regarding LHS Product range.
Providing comprehensive technical services for the efficient and safe operation of electronic technology for health, safety, and productivity in the mining sector.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
External Applicants
- Matric or a relevant Trade Diploma.
- Currently employed at Senior Technician level.
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience working on related Business Unit (BU) product lines, with demonstrated technical competency and completion of all required internal training.
OR
External Applicants
- Matric and a relevant Trade Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation, or an equivalent qualification (Technikon Diploma S4).
- Minimum of two (2) years' post-qualification experience in a relevant technical field.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical
- Assist PM on Existing products config management to latest spec – PBS
- Quality req. – NCR’s, ECR, TB, WI, BOM updates - Coordinating of this
- Coordinate or assist with testing of Hardware
- Travel to Africa Countries to assist with Technical issues
- Carrying out Internal and External audits on area, product support & site files
- Assist with technical matters for support and projects.
- Review, update, create product manuals as required
- Coordinate or assist with customer product trials/POC’s
- Installation, repairing, certification and technical support of electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards on the specified mine/s.
- Quality checks all work as per company quality policy.
- Troubleshoot problems to determine root cause of issue and recommend a corrective action.
- Reporting and recording further maintenance requirements.
- Assist PM with New Projects.
- Any other reasonable duties given to you by your direct Product Manager or SBU Manager.
Operational
- Sound understanding of product solutions and roadmap of product evolution by understanding exactly why and how the solution is solving the client problem
- Assist with product launch activities – Product demonstration, trial , POC.
- Liaise with other technical employees, and customers on the site to support in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met.
- Keep PM updated of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect the customer or our company.
- Feedback on a regular basis to PM, Technical co-coordinator and Supervisor and Clien
- Provides support to the coordinator on assignments, and works in other departments and/or miscellaneous assignments as instructed.
- Developing of customer relations.
- Completion of required documentation, reports and paperwork for the mine, customers and Technical coordinator / Supervisor and Product Manager.
Quality & Customer Centricity
- Schedule daily time to answer or create necessary e-mails
- Create time for document reviews
- Create time for typical HR related weekly’s – Prompt petrol claims, leave expenses etc.
- Prompt liaising with customers through emails or phone calls where required
- Adhere to all customer safety regulations at all times.
- Adhere to specific risk assessment before commencing daily tasks.
- Ensure medical and inductions are valid.
- Adhere to all Company/LHS Processes and Procedures.
