We are currently looking to add a Machine Operator to our busy team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment setting and operating machinery in a sheet metal environment. Desired experience and qualifications Experience operating manufacturing machinery. Understanding of metal processing, stamping, presswork, or coil-fed production lines. Ability to set up and adjust feed lengths, speeds, and guides. Experience loading and handling steel, metal coils. Knowledge of quality inspection techniques using gauges, micrometres, or measuring equipment. Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Safe use of moving machinery and guarding systems. Manual handling and overhead crane operation (often required for loading coils). Awareness of PUWER regulations if working in the UK. Understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work. Reading engineering drawings. Performing first-off and in-process quality checks. Recording production data. Identifying material defects. Working to production targets and KPIs. Basic maintenance and lubrication tasks. Beneficial Qualifications Counterbalance FLT licence. Overhead crane certificate. Manufacturing NVQ Level 2 or 3. Mechanical engineering or production engineering qualifications. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training.
