Program Leadership ✅ Lead the implementation, coordination, and ongoing growth of Child Life programs ✅ Develop innovative resources, tools, and support materials for patients and families ✅ Evaluate program outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives ✅ Communicate program goals, outcomes, and needs to leadership and stakeholders Education & Mentorship ✅ Design and deliver educational programs for interdisciplinary teams ✅ Provide training and support for Child Life staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and families ✅ Serve as a subject matter expert in evidence-based Child Life practice Collaboration & Advocacy ✅ Partner with leaders and interdisciplinary teams across Mercy Children's ✅ Advocate for patient- and family-centered care initiatives ✅ Support program implementation and continuity across multiple Mercy locations Program Operations ✅ Assist with budget oversight, expense monitoring, supply management, and grant-writing efforts ✅ Ensure responsible stewardship of department resources 🎓 Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Child Life Completion of a Child Life internship Required Certifications Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) BLS certification within 90 days of hire Experience Three or more years of Child Life experience Ideal Candidate You are: An experienced Child Life professional who thrives in a leadership role Passionate about program development and innovation Comfortable educating multidisciplinary teams Skilled at building relationships across departments Organized, self-directed, and driven to improve patient and family experiences 🌈 Bring Your Expertise. Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
