Job Overview: The duties and responsibilities of a Skilled Construction Laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project.
The list of duties and responsibilities for a Laborer on any given day may include the following:
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt, concrete, and dirt.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Must be able to work individually, within a team, and in all weather.
- Must be punctual, reliable and be a hard worker.
- Direct trucks where to dump, sign in tickets, and keep track of time and load count.
- Ensure trucks are lowering their bed before leaving jobsite and drivers are wearing their PPE.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of construction experience.
- GED/high school diploma or related work experience.
- Trade school a plus.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment/materials up to 50+ pounds.
