We have an exciting opportunity for a Dental Receptionist to join our long standing, friendly & experienced team at Portman Dental & Implant Clinic in Sheffield. We are a state of the art practice with a fantastic team, delivering cutting edge treatments for general, specialist and cosmetic dentistry in Sheffield city centre.
The essentials:
- Part time 4 days per week
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 7.45am - 5.15pm and Fridays 7.45am - 1.15pm
- Competitive hourly rate: £12.88 per hour
- Beautiful practice in a convenient city centre location close to tram & bus stops with shops & cafes nearby
- Full training provided for new starters
Please note this is a maternity cover role on a fixed term contract starting in December 2026 for 14 months initially.
Duties of this role will include but not be limited to:
- Greet patients, visitors, and employees with a warm, friendly and professional welcome.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with clarity and empathy
- Manage the reception desk and maintain a clean, organised workspace
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate calendars
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Perform general administrative tasks
- Coordinate with various clinicians/nurses and Treatment Co-Ordinator to support daily operations and special events
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure and professionalism
About you
We’d love to receive your application to our Receptionist vacancy if you have the following skills and experience:
- Previous front of house Reception experience (ideally within a dental or healthcare setting, although this isn’t a must-have)
- A positive attitude, empathetic and well-organised
- Great communication skills, with a passion for delivering great service and building strong relationships with both colleagues and patients
