Job Description Counterbalance FLT Driver – South Ockendon (RM15) Salary: £28,624.43 + 20% shift allowance = £34,349.31 per year Shifts: Double Days, Mon–Fri (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotating weekly) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Location: South Ockendon, RM15 (commutable from Rainham, Dagenham, Grays, Purfleet, Hornchurch, Romford & surrounding areas) Why join CHEP? You’ll operate 4.5-ton triple fork FLTs in a fast-paced yard environment, supporting production and haulier operations. What you’ll do Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs Assist with manual inspection & repair of yard equipment Report any damage or operational issues promptly Handle and rotate stock safely and efficiently What we need from you Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred) External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered Experience with double/triple fork FLTs = big advantage Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment About CHEP CHEP moves goods for the world’s biggest brands using over 300 million pallets & containers across 55+ countries.
