We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join a long-term development and maintenance project covering 7 business applications built in Java.
You will become part of a 5-person development team responsible for further development of the client’s applications, implementing new functionalities and improvements, as well as supporting the resolution of application-related issues when needed.
This role is a good fit for someone who feels comfortable working with existing enterprise applications while also actively contributing to their ongoing development.
Your responsibilities
- Developing and enhancing Java-based applications
- Implementing new functionalities and improvements across the client’s application landscape
- Designing and implementing REST APIs
- Working with relational databases and optimizing SQL queries
- Managing database schema changes using Liquibase
- Supporting the investigation and resolution of support tickets when required
- Working closely with other members of the 5-person development team
- Contributing to the ongoing maintenance and technical development of the applications
Must-have skills
Java & Backend
- Very good knowledge of Java 17+
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java backend development
- Good knowledge of Spring Boot 3.x
- Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs
Databases
- Experience working with relational databases, particularly:
- Oracle Database
- PostgreSQL
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries
- Experience managing database schema changes with Liquibase
Nice to have
Systems & tools
- Knowledge of Java EE / Jakarta EE
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Familiarity with Bash
- Experience working with Git
- Basic knowledge of Apache Kafka
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Knowledge of GlassFish 7
Business application frontend
- Knowledge of JSF
- Experience with PrimeFaces
Fluency in Polish and English required.
Hybrid work model: 2 days from the office, 3 days of home office.
Office location: Warsaw, Poznań, Lublin, Katowice, Rzeszów or Łódź.
