Position summary

The Business Enablement department centralizes support functions and strengthens the role of the key front office support functions, giving these the attention they deserve. It allows for more centralized steering and coordination, allowing the solution teams to focus more on their core activities. The Business Enablement department comprises three teams: CoE IESG, CoE KYC, and Fund Management.

Role Purpose

The Director Business Enablement leads the centralized Business Enablement department, ensuring consistent, scalable, and high-quality support across the CIO domain. The role is responsible for translating strategy into execution, enabling organizational growth, developing new funds and business capabilities, and establishing the governance, reporting, and operating models required to support Invest International's future ambitions. Given the highly strategic nature of the role, the Director works in close collaboration with the CIO and the CIO Management Team (CIO MT).

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Regulatory & Impact Leadership

  • Lead the strategic development of Invest International's regulatory, ESG, impact, and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and external developments.

  • Act as Invest International's principal strategic advisor on regulatory, policy, ESG, impact, KYC, and AML matters, translating external developments into organizational priorities.

  • Anticipate changes in regulation, government policy, market dynamics, client needs, and international sustainability agendas, and translate these into strategic recommendations.

  • Drive the development of new instruments, solutions, and frameworks that support proactive sector strategies and may require changes to government policies or implementation mechanisms.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with BuZa, BHO, regulators, policymakers, and sector partners to influence and shape enabling frameworks.

  • Provide strategic leadership to sector and investment teams, focusing on long-term policy, regulatory, and impact considerations rather than operational execution.

  • Lead and develop the Business Enablement department and its three teams.

  • Ensure scalable operating models, governance structures, processes, and capabilities that prepare Invest International for future growth and increasing portfolio complexity.

  • Drive organizational readiness for expansion through the professionalization of business support functions, data capabilities, reporting frameworks, and control mechanisms.

  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience managing complex operational support functions, specifically within fund management, risk, or compliance frameworks.

  • Multidisciplinary Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and scaling multidisciplinary, highly specialized teams (ideally across ESG, KYC, or portfolio operations).

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Regulatory & Compliance Frameworks: Deep operational understanding of Know Your Customer (KYC/AML) protocols, International ESG standards, and impact frameworks.
