What you will be doing:
In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality welding work in accordance with ASME codes and standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, fabrication plans, and welding specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Fabricating, assembling, fitting, and welding components in accordance with project requirements and relevant standards.
- Conducting pre-work inspections of materials, equipment, and work areas to verify readiness and safety.
- Performing quality control checks and measurements using precision tools to ensure completed work meets specified tolerances and quality requirements.
- Maintaining detailed records of welding procedures, inspections, and test results to support traceability and compliance.
- Identifying and reporting defects or non-conformities and assisting with corrective actions.
- Operating and maintaining welding and fabrication equipment, ensuring it remains in safe working condition.
- Working collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Adhering to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives through feedback and recommendations on fabrication and welding processes.
What You'll Need
- Valid ASME IX certification to 6G or an equivalent welding qualification.
- Proven experience as a Welder in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or heavy engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes and standards, particularly the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
- Experience with a variety of welding processes and fabrication techniques.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication plans, and welding specifications.
- Experience with mechanical fitting, assembly, and installation activities.
