We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Bilingual Dental Insurance & Patient Coordinator to support our client's Prosthodontic and Periodontal dental practice in Florida. The ideal candidate has hands-on dental insurance verification experience in a U.S. dental office, communicates confidently in English and Spanish, and is comfortable balancing benefits verification, pre-authorizations, and patient scheduling while following established office scripts and workflows. This is a dedicated, full-time placement: you will work directly with one practice as an extension of its front-office team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled patients, including deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, frequency limitations, and coverage percentages.
• Contact insurance carriers by phone and portal to clarify benefits and resolve coverage questions.
• Submit and track pre-authorizations and pre-determinations for prosthodontic and periodontal treatment.
• Document benefits breakdowns and verification results accurately in Open Dental.
• Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls in English and Spanish, following office scripts.
• Schedule new patients, confirm upcoming appointments, and manage the provider schedule.
• Follow up on cancellations and no-shows to rebook patients and fill open slots.
• Maintain patient demographics and insurance information in Open Dental and support new patient intake.
• Use Weave for patient calls, texts, and outreach.
• Handle patient information with discretion and in full compliance with HIPAA.
Requirements
Must Have:
• Minimum of 1 year of dental insurance verification experience in a U.S. dental office. General medical insurance verification does not qualify — only candidates with dental insurance experience will be considered.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent, natural spoken English with a clear, professional phone presence is required (American accent preferred).
• Experience documenting dental benefits and handling pre-authorizations / pre-determinations.
• Dental scheduling experience, including managing cancellations and no-shows.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, and the ability to follow scripts and procedures consistently.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Private, quiet home office with a reliable computer, high-speed internet, backup internet and power, and a noise-canceling headset.
Nice to Have:
• Open Dental experience.
• Weave experience.
• Prosthodontic or periodontal practice experience.
• Experience in a busy dental front office or specialist scheduling.
