The Opportunity: Work term of 4 months starting in January 2027. (Possible extension until August 2027) The high-speed photonics components R&D team is located in Quebec City and develops devices that are an important part of Ciena’s commercialized high-performance optical systems. This internship on the product validation team contributes to the development of data analysis tools used in the design and validation of high-speed photonic components. How you will make an impact: Develop software for data analysis. Develop pipelines for data transformation and presentation. Collaborate closely with validation engineers to understand needs and define optimum solutions. The must haves: Education: Actively enrolled in a degree program in engineering or similar (electrical, physic, computer), Skills in statistics. Comfort learning new software technologies. Knowledge of one or many of the following languages: Python, SQL, C#. Nice to haves: Experience with big data tools. Ability to work and communicate in French. Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $25.50 to $35.00 Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
