Position Summary The Machine Operator / Machinist set up, maintain and operate machinery. Role and Responsibilities • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed) • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools • Test operation of machines periodically • Fix issues that might occur during the shift • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products • Maintain activity logs • Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice • All other duties as assigned #LI-ONSITE Skills and Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a skilled trades field preferred • Must be able to speak, read, and write English • The ability to stand up for 8 - 10 hours a day required • Overtime opportunities possible • All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs. • The ability to pass a drug test and background check • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions • Must be age 18 or older • Must be eligible to work in the United States • 5 or more years of relevant/related work experience PREFERRED/DESIRED: • Millwright or Electrician certificate • Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment • Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders • The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development General Notice: Candidates are expected to honor their obligations to former employers.
