Your Role:

At EIT we are seeking a forward-thinking Quality and Compliance Manager with demonstrable experience to continue the design, roll out, and maintenance of our robust, ISO-aligned but research-accessible, Quality Management System (QMS) on a 12-month fixed term contract from beginning of April to allow for a handover period. This role will ensure that quality and compliance principles continue to be embedded across research, underpinning both academic excellence and the successful commercialisation of research outputs at EIT.

You will also create learning materials for the Quality Management System (QMS) and deliver training across EIT as required.

Your Responsibilities:

ISO-aligned QMS Implementation & Leadership

  • Continue developing the design and institute-wide rollout of QMS requirements and processes, aligned with ISO 9001 to ensure applicability across the developing management systems at EIT.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the sustainable, scalable, and adaptable quality management framework that serves diverse research and commercial programmes.
  • Act as a liaison with certification bodies and auditors, ensuring audit readiness and successful certification.

Document & Policy Management

  • Maintain the EIT document control system, ensuring all policies, procedures, and quality records are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Promote compliance with policy requirements across departments and programmes and provide clear guidance to programme teams.

Audits, Reviews & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage audit programmes, driving compliance, transparency, and accountability across all functions.
  • Facilitate management reviews, producing actionable insights and ensuring leadership visibility of performance and risk.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives that enhance the institute’s operational excellence.

Culture & Capability

  • Help to develop and deliver training and awareness programmes to embed quality and compliance culture.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to programme leaders, offering expert guidance and practical support.
  • Foster a continuous improvement ethos, ensuring lessons learned and best practices are shared across the institute.

Additional Opportunities

  • Develop the QMS further towards specific commercial opportunities.
  • Training and personal development opportunities.
  •  Grow the QMS in support of EIT growth and building development.

Requirements

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrable expertise in QMS and ISO implementation and ongoing compliance.
  • Experience leading quality and compliance functions in research-intensive or complex multi-programme environments.
  • Strong background in document control, policy management, audits, and compliance leadership.

  • Track record of driving cultural change and embedding quality systems at scale.
  • Experience in electronic Quality management systems and strong IT skills.
