This team designs and delivers cutting-edge digital platforms that power critical processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability across the enterprise. Enterprise Systems Management & Business Operations delivers digital solutions that support Enterprise Systems running as a high-performing organisation. This team drives financial discipline, operational rigour and strategic alignment across the ES (Enterprise Systems) portfolio that safeguard GSK’s integrity and reputation globally. By joining this team, you’ll help shape systems that support thousands of employees worldwide, driving innovation and reliability in the tools that keep GSK moving forward. Job Purpose: The Senior Manager MES Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing secure, reliable, and standardized MES development, testing, deployment, and production environments across Siemens OpCenter, Emerson Syncade, Mendix, and AspenTech MES platforms. The role manages engineering tools, environments, automation, CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) processes, deployment standards, and technical controls to support efficient and compliant MES solution delivery. Working closely with development, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, OT (Operational Technology), and quality teams, the role ensures MES platforms, environments, and deployment processes are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards. The role also drives standardization, automation, reuse, and (Artificial Intelligence) AI-enabled engineering capabilities while maintaining appropriate security, governance, and traceability. The MES Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for the MES engineering platform and deployment ecosystem but does not own product strategy, solution architecture, or development delivery. Use AI-assisted engineering as the primary approach for configuring, automating, testing, documenting, and supporting MES infrastructure solutions. Deliver secure, reliable, and compliant infrastructure services that support MES platform performance, availability, and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, own, and continuously improve MES infrastructure platforms, environments, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation for Syncade, OpCenter, Mendix, and AspenTech MES using version-controlled Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks. Own the design of MES platform, environment, and pipeline architectures within approved enterprise standards, documenting technical decisions, reusable patterns, and implementation approaches. Develop and maintain automated build, test, deployment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and configuration management processes to improve platform reliability, scalability, and consistency. Provide MES developers and site teams with standardized environments, self-service capabilities, automation tools, and engineering frameworks that improve delivery efficiency and consistency. Coordinate software releases and environment promotions, ensuring traceability, validation, quality, security, and GxP (Good Practice) compliance requirements are met. Lead validation activities for infrastructure and platform changes, including risk assessments, testing, documentation, compliance evidence, and release readiness. Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity and solution quality, ensuring all AI-generated outputs are reviewed, validated, and approved before implementation. Ensure environments, deployments, and platform changes comply with cybersecurity, data integrity, validation, change control, and regulatory requirements throughout the system lifecycle. Monitor platform availability, performance, security, and operational health; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Collaborate with MES developers, site teams, Quality, Infrastructure, OT, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and vendor teams to deliver secure, reliable, and supportable platform services. Establish and maintain DevSecOps, configuration management, release management, deployment standards, reusable infrastructure patterns, automation frameworks, technical standards, and operational controls to enable secure, consistent, and scalable MES platform delivery across sites. Support incident management, disaster recovery, business continuity, platform upgrades, and lifecycle management activities. Validate all AI-generated configurations, scripts, documentation, and recommendations for accuracy, security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance before use, deployment, or release. Ensure infrastructure changes meet operational, quality, and regulatory requirements. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum 5+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis or technology delivery, including translating business needs into solutions that address defined outcomes. Experience in managing product backlogs, requirements, user stories, priorities and delivery in Agile environments. Experience in stakeholder management, prioritisation, decision-making and cross-functional collaboration. Experience in security, quality, compliance, validation and change management requirements. Experience in using AI-powered tools for requirements analysis, documentation, backlog management and decision-making, while applying quality, security, compliance and business-value controls. Experience in with pharmaceutical or biotech MES platforms and MES solution delivery, including platform lifecycle management, release management and integrations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in communication, facilitation and stakeholder management, including clearly articulating product decisions, priorities and technology constraints. Experience in applying analytical and decision-making approaches to balance business value, risk, cost, complexity and operational impact. Experience in using data, user feedback, AI and automation opportunities to inform product improvements and business outcomes. Experience in architecture, integration, data, security, compliance and operational readiness requirements. #AGTech #GSK-LI Skills Agile Methodology, API Management, CI/CD, Cloud Based Services, Computer Programming, Configuration Management (CM), Containerization, Database Management, Infrastructure As Code (IaC), Microservices Architecture, Network Security, Operating Systems (OS), System Monitors, Version Control System Why GSK?
